Screen printing initiation in East London
Art x Tea time

During the workshop we will cover:
*Image design in photoshop
*Image transfer to acetate
*Coating/Screen Exposure
*Inking and pulling image
*Textile printing (tshirts)
Screen printing first appeared in a recognizable form in China. It then became popular in Japan and other Asian countries before being introduced to Western Europe in the late 18th century. Credit is generally given to Andy Warhol for popularizing screen printing identified as serigraphy in the US with his most famous piece being a depiction of Marilyn Monroe in garish colors. With its affordable and readily available materials, screen printing is frequently used in underground settings and subcultures. The non-professional look of such DIY culture screenprints have become a significant cultural aesthetic seen on movie posters, record albums covers, flyers, shirts & artwork. (source: Wikipedia)
